About Me

Welcome to NashFitFoodie!

My name is Antonette, I am 25 years old and grew up in Los Angeles, California. In 2013 I moved across the country to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Belmont University and received my degree in Business Administration and Marketing. After graduating, I avoided the corporate America job route and decided to make my passion for health and wellness a career and became a Certified Holistic Health Coach, a fitness instructor, and personal trainer. I took this leap of faith knowing it would require hard work and dedication but considering my personal journey I knew being a Health + Fitness Coach and an overall advocate for healthy living was meant for me and here’s why…

Growing up, I never considered myself to be the thinnest or the most fit out of my peers. I came from a large Italian family where food was a constant topic of interest. Italians love food and, of course, I inherited that love as well. My mom, sister, and I were always in the kitchen and it is with them that I learned everything I know about cooking today. Although I knew how to cook and create delicious meals  I was never concerned or bothered by their effects on my physical and mental health. I struggled with body image and weight issues throughout my entire childhood and High School as well. I tried every fad diet you could think of and was always looking for the next “quick fix” but nothing ever seemed to work. There was really no point that I was not on some kind of diet but of course none of them seemed to work and it not only developed an unhealthy relationship with food but my body as well. After countless failed attempts to feel good I finally decided to make a complete lifestyle change during my senior year of high school and this time vowed there would be no excuses. No more quick fixes. I knew if I wanted to make a lasting difference in my body and my mind it would take hard work and real dedication. I ditched “dieting” and focused on real food and exercise instead.

For the first time, I felt that I had finally made a decision that I was sticking to. The more physically fit and the healthier I became, the better I felt (and looked!) I was a new person in every way and the more results I saw the more confidence I gained. I realized that once I started really taking care of my body and fueling it with real foods instead of the processed “health foods” I was so used to eating, my body and mind worked so much more efficiently. Finding a true balance in my life was exponentially rewarding and I knew it was something I wanted others to find as well.

I started this blog to share my journey, my knowledge, and my love for health, fitness, and nutrition. I am so passionate about making healthy eating and habits easy and enjoyable for everyone, no matter where you are in your fitness journey. My hope for this blog is to inspire you to make the simple changes and every day choices that can drastically improve your life. There is no such thing as perfect (and even I have to remind myself of this daily) and a healthy lifestyle is a journey, not a destination. Take the first step and join me on my ongoing path as well as creating your own.
