Detox Tea

I am sure you have all seen the ads for the magic “skinny tea” that reduces bloating, flattens your stomach, curbs your appetite, and makes you feel amazing. I am guilty of purchasing a popular skinny tea and to be honest I hated the taste and I never felt any different. I decided to do some research and learn how to make this tea myself and, it turns out, it is sooooo simple! IMG_1119

The combination of ginger, lemon, honey, and apple cider vinegar has all the benefits these expensive skinny teas claim to have and tastes so much better. You can drink it hot or cold! If my word does not convince you to make this drink a part of your daily routine maybe this list of benefits will change your mind 😉

  1. Lemon — This is always a great additive to your water or tea! Lemon is rich in vitamin A and C, it alkalizes the body, and aids in flushing the body of toxins and waste. It also helps with clearer skin, weight loss, energy levels, and immune system.
  2. Ginger — It is no secret that ginger is a great remedy for an upset stomach. Ginger helps with digestion and bloating while also aiding in the prevention of the common cold and flu. Also great for clearing sinuses and is used to ease migraines.
  3. Apple Cider Vinegar – – This stuff is amazing… Apple cider vinegar aids in digestion, helps control appetite, clears acne, and improves metabolism.
  4. Honey — Not only is honey a low calorie all natural sweetener, it also boots immunity, aids in sleep, soothes migraines, and treats sore throats.

So, as you can see, this tea is very helpful with detoxing and bloating but also contains even more health benefits along with it!

The way I usually make this tea is with a ginger tea bag, juice of half a lemon, 2 tsp honey, and about 1-2 oz of apple cider vinegar.

You can always grate your own ginger instead of the tea bag but it’s completely up to you! Hope you enjoy this yummy detox tea! I try to drink at least 2 cups a day 🙂
